Several occasional readers pointed out to me Navy’s decision to let chaplains whose religious beliefs do not conflict with the practice to perform “non-traditional weddings, blessings,” etc. in base chapels in states where gay marriage is currently permitted.
I didn’t have much to say about it then, and don’t now: I’m already tired of the subject, and it doesn’t much surprise me that Navy – keen as ever to show the political branch that they “get it”, whatever it is and at whatever cost it might come in at – is leading from the front on this issue.
